February 16, 2007 There has been a lot going on lately in my writing world. On Christmas Eve, I found out Chance’s had been nominated for a CAPA (a Cupid and Psyche Award) by The Romance Studio. They choose the nominees from all the books they review in the past year, and mine was in the best inspirational romance category. The winners were chosen on Valentine’s Day, and Chance’s Return won the CAPA! It’s really very exciting for me, as the other nominees were very notable authors and I felt myself in good company. I was one of two authors from Triskelion to win a CAPA; the other is Gail Delaney, who won in the fantasy category. You can visit The Romance Studio (www.theromancestudio.com) and see the entire list of winners. To help celebrate the month of romance, I participated in a library event called Romance Returns to Romeo. It was held February 10 at the Romeo District Library in Washington, Michigan. The weather was cold and snowy, but an exuberant group of authors and readers came out to chat about books and their love of the romance genre. We had two panels. I was on one with Cindy Spencer Pape, another new Triskelion author, and three multi-published authors of romance, Beverly Jenkins, Michelle Celmer, and Gayle Gaymer Martin, made up the second panel. We had a lovely time, and it was a fun way to spend a wintry Saturday afternoon. There are a few photos posted on my Pictures page if you'd like to see all of us! I recently started a newsgroup at Yahoo groups and will send out a quarterly newsletter with updates on my writing projects, writing tips for other writers, and favorite recipes. If you would like to receive my newsletter, please contact me at lucy@lucynaylorkubash.com and I will send you an invitation to join. Hope you are staying warm, if you live in a cold climate
like I do, and if you’re lucky enough to be where it’s warm,
please send some sunshine up my way! I certainly hope spring isn’t
too far away.
