I've
been making up stories for as long as I can remember, starting with animal
stories and graduating to an historical romance I wrote while in high
school. In college I took several creative writing classes, and when my
children were small I wrote and sold a number of short stories to Woman's
World magazine.
I've been
a member of Romance Writers of America and Mid-Michigan Romance Writers
for over twenty years and have written articles for chapter newsletters.
I'm also concerned with animal welfare issues, and I write a monthly column
called The Pet Corner. It supports ads for a local rescue group
and humane animal shelter in a weekly paper called Mailmax.
My husband
and I met in high school when two rival schools from opposite sides of
the river merged. We became engaged at the Grand Teton National Park (maybe
why I set Chance's Return there!) and recently celebrated our
34th wedding anniversary. We live in southwest Michigan, near the sunset
coast of Lake Michigan, and we like to walk our dog Zeke, a very exuberant
Jack Russell Terrier, in the park above the lake. We have some truly beautiful
beaches here, and I like to visit them often to relax and find inspiration.
We have a
daughter who is a reference librarian and a son in college, studying psychology.
A librarian and a future psychologist--what more could a writer ask for
in her family?
